User Preferences in Future Voice Interfaces

Welcome to this research project of LMU Munich. Following the approach of user-centered design, we want to find out more about your preferences in future voice interfaces.

Voice interfaces can interpret human speech and respond via synthesized voice. Today they can be found in all kinds of devices – in the navigation system of a car, in smart homes, on smart phones, or as a dedicated hardware device such as Alexa. With recent advances in artificial intelligence voice interfaces will provide more natural conversations, show emotion-awareness, and even have their own personalities. However, the new technological possibilities lead to challenges and raise questions for which we want to find answers.

We will raffle five 20€ Amazon vouchers among the respondents, who fill out the survey and provide their email address in a separate form. Students of LMU Munich can instead of participating in the raffle choose to receive 0.5 MMI points.

Completing the survey will take around 20 minutes. The anonymously collected data is compliant with data protection requirements and will be used for research purposes only. If you have questions about the survey, please contact Barbarella Petz (barbarella.petz@campus.lmu.de).

Thank you for participating in this survey to support science.

A note on privacy
This survey is anonymous.
The record kept of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you unless a specific question in the survey has asked for this. If you have responded to a survey that used an identifying token to allow you to access the survey, you can rest assured that the identifying token is not kept with your responses. It is managed in a separate database, and will only be updated to indicate that you have (or haven't) completed this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses in this survey.
